Independent Curator, Public Programmer
PhD Student, Communication & Culture, York University
With a passion for visual literacy, social justice and arts-based research, I have spent the past decade between the United Arab Emirates and Canada developing contemporary art exhibitions and public programmes in collaboration with artists, art foundations and government organisations. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Communication and Culture at York University and T’karonto Metropolitan University where my research examines the power of imagery as public pedagogy, with a particular focus on the role of photography in the spread mis- and disinformation on social media.
I am currently based in Ontario, Canada where I am working as a researcher, contract lecturer, and curator. Learn more below and get in touch: mmckee@yorku.ca
